This course is intended to provide an introduction to
basic concepts and issues in translation studies. The course helps students
increase their awareness of the different ways in which the two languages,
English and Indonesian, express concepts. It offers a variety of material for
translation including popular, technical, scientific and popular-scientific
texts and suggests ways of ensuring that the end product (the translation from
English into Indonesian) is both accurate and communicative.
